Our starting point with each client is to understand their achievements and aspirations. We do this through thorough discussion and extensive research. We are also able to draw on business orientated psychologists who really take the time to understand the client rather than simply relying on standard tests.
Successful individuals often find it difficult to identify all the possible options open to them and to then make the often difficult choices. This is where Stork & May's experience can be invaluable. We can be creative and objective, testing options in the real world so that the right strategic choices are made. If a career move is planned, we work with our clients to agree what is realistically achievable and then to target such opportunities. Research and preparation are critical and our Research Department has a variety of tools and techniques to assist clients.
The relationships that we have with the executive search community are also critical. Having worked in executive search ourselves, we know many of the recruiters personally and have worked in executive search ourselves. Our links with recruitment specialists are continually ongoing and extend around the world. We are often aware of assignments that are not in the public domain. We also have special relationships with private equity firms and as a consequence a good understanding of their agenda and how it differs from that of a listed business. We can introduce clients where appropriate and our connections give them a better chance of successfully negotiating a route through this often new and unfamiliar environment.
Once a client has made a move, established a portfolio or otherwise met their objectives, we still keep in touch. We are keen that they succeed and we help them to do this in any way that is realistically possible. We have a programme of events and support for former clients. We are pleased to help executive search, private equity firms and others recruiting at the senior levels and do so freely.
We are able to suggest those from amongst our active and, if appropriate, former clients whom we feel could be suitable for a particular appointment. We have a reputation for objectivity and will not push inappropriate candidates as we understand the recruiting process well enough to know how frustrating this can be. The service is free and entirely confidential.
