I joined Stork & May over a decade ago and love the work we do and the difference we make. We’re a unique partnership of very different individuals. I engage deeply and personally with each client but collaborate with my colleagues to harness our collective capability in pursuit of their happiness, progress and success.
I am straightforward, honest and grounded in reality. I understand business and the emotional dimensions of leadership and change. I also care very much about making sure my clients enjoy their experience and get good outcomes. However successful, there is always more to achieve. Tennis players don’t drop their coach once they’re at the top of their game. In fact, that’s when they have their highest potential.
I have worked with hundreds of senior people in every sector and leadership role. Every time I think nothing can surprise me about the human condition, something surprises me. I draw on my background in manufacturing, real estate, insolvency, restructuring, and transformation, as well as executive search and leadership development, and have a global perspective. I’ve advised the World Economic Forum on leadership issues and spent many years in global firms, travelling extensively. This has made me tough, commercial, knowledgeable and well connected – and at the same time insightful about people and the challenges that come with being successful. I bring some or all of this experience to every client.
A client once said to me, “You helped me see myself as the world saw me, understand why and what that means I can achieve, and then to make it happen.” That sums it up well – and hearing a client say that is the best feeling in the world.
